Chairman's Message

The year 2008 was the 41st year of operation of BURCELIK.

Within this 41 year BURCELIK, starting from a minor steel foundry, became a strong industrial company having considerable amount of value addition to Turkiye's economy. I thank to all our shareholders having valuable participation in the company to our entire self sacrificing employee. BURCELIK is offering quality goods and services to the market in three main areas:

Steel castings at various alloys and qualities,
Stone crushing, screening and stocking machinery as well as other heavy industrial equipment and welded constructions at larger scale,
Machining capabilies at various dimensions.

BURCELIK is actively participating at the productivity and profit ability of our customers. High performance, quality, security and multipurpose design of the machinery and services produced by BURCELIK are contributing to customers financials in a total maximum way.

The global crisis aroused in the last three months of 2008 also had a bad impact to our customers causing a change in our customer portfolio.

On the other hand reducing the market price of steel and changing the currencies had a positive influence on our costs and margins. With the implementation of recent concepts in stock policy BURCELIK entered this period with minimum levels of steel stocks hence no negative influence of reduced steel prices are exercised on profit and loss accounts.

BURCELIK kept its position in international markets by applying a non liberal budget estimations and plans.

In the year 2008 BURCELIK had important progress in several areas which will have a positive impact on company future.

Investments for restructuring the company was continued, several attempts are made in developing and training of human resources, implementation of developed planning and stock control software are continued, modernization project of machine tools are also progressed. Machining capacity of the plant is also increased.

We are expecting full support from our stockholders and employee to continue our progress in becoming a world class company, to have best results in our area of business, and having the appreciation of our customers and of the community we are living in.
